A friend from Bellingham put together an excellent full color 8.5"x11" zine that was released on Friday.
It is called 'Signed'. He interviewed Rock Musicians about their experiences with and views on the recording industry. This is a side of music we as consumers rarely get to see and it is vastly more interesting that one would expect. Also included are a comic, some art, an excerpt from Basic Analysis by myself and a poem by Mary Cornish. Interviews are with Ian Mackaye (Minor Threat/Fugazi), Henry Rollins (Black Flag), Mark Arm (Mud Honey) and Jacob Bannon (Converge). Issues can be picked up in Bellingham at The Alternative Library in Make.Shift, in Seattle at Singles Going Steady in Boston (somewhere?) and you can probably also receive a copy if you e-mail me (thisis.fryou@gmail.com) or the editor Harrison (signed3@gmail.com).
There will be another issue to be released around September for which I will most likely be writing a book review. If you have a book that will be released around then let me know and I can get that in there.
