Follow the procession of the merry master to the ash heap outside the walls of the town. There take up a handful of white ash and place it upon your face, then sprinkle the blood of a new born calf three times to the north, three times to the south, three times to the west and thrice again to the east. Wash your hands in the brass bowl then proceed the walk with the sun seven times around the great plinth singing quietly the acts of the three silent monks whose names cannot be spoken but once. Proceed then into the copse of sacred mangrove. Take out a handful of cyprus pitch and mix it with the smoke raising herb, place it in a silver bowl and place upon it a shovelful of coals and let the smoke raise to the sky and let it be a pleasant scent. Watch at the smoke raises to the heavens and mixes thence with the clouds above and forms itself the sky.
